Y’all know me, this is the kind of home I’d go look at. I’d do a bit of unrestoration, starting with the exterior. 🙂 I love the rock fireplace surrounds and the corner cabinet. I’m not so sure about the 1860 date, most of the interior looks closer to 1900.

So Im guessing the front porch, even in the old photo was a replacement for a really wonderful all wood Carolina porch. Think the build date is right, however this has been mucked with over the years both inside and out. Agree with Kelly, looks like a remodle done in early 1900’s, probably that’s when they poured that monsterous horrific cement porch foundation. Have seen very similar structures here in rural SC. The double front doors are also autentic to the build date.
I need a couple of those raised 6 panels doors folks, so if anyone out there ever sees any for sale, or knows of any currently for sale, PLEASE let me know. They are harder than Hades to find! I need 2. Thanks!

Aw, now we are in my neck of the woods! This house is just outside of Cliffside, which is a very desirable area. Close enough to Spartanburg, Charlotte, and Asheville to day trip without the high cost of living however you are almost guaranteed a long commute to work. I love being in such a sleepy area though and Cliffside has several older homes that are just gorgeous.

I love it! Needs a little un-dating..I would love to be that close to Tryon equestrian center.

I liked the home in the old photos, with authenticity and character. I love the abundant stone, although I bet whoever dug them all up didn’t love them so much (assuming they are local rock). The black wall phone made me laugh… ours was pea green and had a little table underneath it, but it was in the kitchen too…ruining any chance for private conversation. 🙂
