Yeah! So happy this got posted. This may not be the fancy schmanciest of old houses, but it is in a VERY pretty part of Indiana, not that far from Bloomington where you will find just about anything you’ll need or want. Really hope and OHD reader finds this one and falls in love. If you do, let us know! 😉

This looks like a lovely place to raise kids! Lots of imagination time spent outside instead of plugged in.

The house and grounds represent a very nice combination of a picturesque farmhouse with a gazebo centered over an old well, and a nice barn as well as 20 acres of land to complete the package. The house appears to have retained many of its late Victorian era details including a “Steamboat” wrap around porch configuration. I’ve sometimes heard these referred to as “Steamboat Gothic” but this house is decidedly in the Queen Anne style family and the Steamboat shaped porch is just an interesting variant for the style. I could see this becoming someone’s old “family place” and remaining in a family for generations to come. As Rosewater noted. Bloomington is not far away. (Google shows 17.3 miles to downtown Bloomington by the shortest route) I hope some lucky Old House Dreamer becomes this lovely homestead’s next owner.

I live in this county, and I have never seen this home. I am going to have to do some searching. This is a very nice area to raise kids, and this could definitely be someones forever home.
