Castle Carberry, c. 1870, located two miles east of Brownsburg, has remained in one family since the Borden Land Grant of the mid 1700's. It begs to be brought back to its original splendor; classic four over four, center hall, 8 fireplaces, lovely large windows providing views of grazing cattle and meandering Moffatts Creek. In addition to the main house the property includes a stone root cellar, 400 sq.ft.brick dwelling with two fireplaces and a farm shed. Situated on a slight rise with 38 acres, a restoration project.

This is the kind of farm you drive by and think “Wish I lived there…”

What a fun project for someone to take on. The perfect amount of land, for me at least. I imagine there was once a proper barn. I wonder what happened to it? I would renovate the cabin, too. My mother in law would be perfectly happy there – really!

What a picturesque setting. I wish there were more pictures as well. And who keeps a farm in the family since the 1700’s? Amazing.

This is just the type I would grab if I could. It has everything you need doesn’t it. 🙂

This one should have some nice history. Does anyone know it? I tried to do some preliminary searches and found nothing! Beautiful property; wish their were more photos.

The barn is right there in the third picture. Someone go see it and get us some pictures.

My wife and I actually looked at this house over 30 years ago and it was beautiful inside and outside. If I recall it has a walk-in fireplace in the kitchen. It is a lovely area.

I’ve had to look at this one a couple of times. It has a bit of a Narnia feel to me, meaning that it’s almost like it would be like stepping into a different dimension/time/realm. Could be the photographs and not the property itself.

I like this and its exterior. Seems like a big price for a place which needs so much work. Love old outbuildings. More pictures please!
