After a long day at work, you drive home, pull the car into the barn, grab your groceries and run for the house. The weather in Vermont is cold. You step inside the mudroom, closing the door behind you, keeping the blustery wind outside. It is then you feel the warmth of the wood stove and make a mad dash to the dining room where you stand a few minutes listening to the crackling of the logs and allowing the heat to sink deep within. From the dining room you see into the kitchen, where your dinner awaits in the crockpot. You grab a glass of wine, walk into your living room, sit next to the open fireplace and are thankful you are home. It is here you stare out the updated windows and look over the 2.6 acre lot dreaming of hot summer days sitting on your screened in porch, watching the vegetables grow in the garden and swimming in the nearby pond. As your day comes to an end, you head upstairs, wash your face in the full bath, grab tomorrow's schedule from your home office and put clean towels in the spare bedroom in preparation for your weekend guests. Retire across the hall to the master bedroom, sit in your favorite reading nook with your new book and read a few chapters before crawling into bed and calling it a day.
