Privacy + Prestige! ''Windy Knoll'' is a generously sized (2600+ square feet), ca. 1920 Craftsman bungalow situated on 2.7 acres atop Luke Mountain--with inspiring views of the Alleghany Highlands for miles in every direction. Originally built for the Luke family's estate manager, the 5 BR, 3 bath home's half-timbered exterior was inspired by the design of the neighboring Luke mansion Pen-y-Bryn. One of only 5 homes on the mountain, Windy Knoll retains much historic charm and has been thoughtfully updated with modern electric, plumbing and more (1st floor master suite and breakfast room additions, gourmet kitchen and guest bath renovations, new lifetime-warranty roof in 2017, recent energy efficient windows, solar panels). Paved driveway and parking; 2-car detached garage; garden shed;VIEW

Wow! Wonder what’s under the siding?

There’s an old Prince song echoing in my head. I know realistically it’s probably all cobalt blue, which I absolutely love, but the HDR makes it look purple.

I wonder if the paper mill is still operational. That would give me pause. Otherwise, this is a lovely, updated home. Wish it had the original bathrooms like the mansion does. But it’s still a very nice house, and the views are spectacular.

Yeah that Viking range is something else. Wonder if they have the matching refrigerator.

I really like the kitchen (and I’m not a white kitchen lover) … someone sure does like purple/mauve hues…great house and wow the scenery is to die for.

I don’t believe Viking ranges come in purple. This would be cobalt blue.
