Bernheim house, built in 1886 is an expansive three-bay-wide Southern town house, surrounded on two sides by a double-level gallery supported on paired posts which are detailed to contrast with rather than repeat with each other. Built for the dry-goods merchant Jacob S. Bernheim, it exhibits such features as scrolled architraves above first & second floor windows that appear in house by Alfred Muller. Located on lovely Sealy Street in the East end Historic district had recently been home to the caretaker in a separate apartment however easily converted back to its one family grandeur.
