As you walk up to this spectacular home built in 1887 you will be welcomed by a breathtaking perennial garden that takes years to cultivate. The owners have commented that the soil is a gardeners delight! Please take a moment and enjoy the trees that are some of the nicest in the city. A charming wrap around covered front porch is perfect for entertaining or quiet reflection over a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Once inside you will appreciate the rich wood floors, molding and hand carved details above the doorways. It is rare but each main doorway includes a functioning original pocket door topped by carved archways. Huge windows bathe the home in natural light as Casablanca ceiling fans bring in plenty of fresh air. The details and craftsmanship throughout are something to be appreciated by all. The kitchen is not original and so does include the conveniences we expect. Main floor separate laundry is off the kitchen as is an enclosed porch ideal for a mud room, gardening area or storage. The main floor is open enough to flow for entertaining even as each room is clearly defined as a "parlor", family room, formal and casual dining. There are two stairways to the 2nd floor, one in the "back" and one main grand staircase with all the rich detailing one would expect. Charming wall sconces adorn the hallway as you move toward the three generous bedrooms. These rooms include unexpectedly large closets and while carpeted do have wood floors. All but one doorway has transom windows and the largest room has an oversized bay window that mirrors that of the main floor. A detached over size one car garage, shed and yard large enough to play in wrap up this property. DON'T MISS OUT ON A RARE OPPORTUNITY AND SCHEDULE YOUR PRIVATE SHOWING TODAY!
