The "Mayor's House" is the old nickname for this amazing Victorian home and you will not believe the custom woodworking, unique leaded glass and the HUGE rounded front dining room with curved glass! There is a receptional hall foyer w/all dark stained oak wood walls to the ceiling w/ a butler pantry and a large parlor! Yes this home needs someone to bring it back to its former glory but is priced accordingly! You say you've been thinking about starting your own business? How about an amazing 'Bed and Breakfast' and one of the only ones that would be in the close proximity & located directly on the corner of Rt. 534 & Rt. 224! Can you say "amazing traffic potential"?! There is a carriage house directly next door w/ Rt. 224 frontage that needs work but is also included with the property and could be possibly made into a general store?! The owners hand dug out the entire basement and poured nice, new concrete floors and there's a full finished tiled bathroom with huge potential to finish the basement! The attic could also be finished to add an additional 2 to 3 bedrooms and has over 13 foot ceilings! Roof, furnace, and septic system was all replaced new in 2004!! All your major items are done for you! Owners also had blown in insulation in 2004! Owners have downsized and say "sell". This home with its one in a million kind of potential WILL NOT LAST!...better book your appointment today. Opportunities are never missed there simply passed on to someone else.

Wow, I would buy this property for that carriage house alone. Looks like it still has original stalls and horse feeders. The house is equally beautiful with an amazingly beautiful staircase. I could do without the Home Depot tile but I guess an extra bathroom in the basement is a plus.

This area is so charming. It’s close to two recreational reservoirs known for boating and camping, wineries, and an excellent school district.

Wow! Just $139K for this FABULOUS carriage house!

And a house comes with it!

My horses say yes. It’s nicer than their current stalls and room for the car too. Are there two houses on this lot? There appears to be another white house adjacent to the main home.

It looks and sounds as though most of the work needed is cosmetic, but it concerns me when there are no pictures of the kitchen. The one picture that shows cabinets and the front of a dishwasher must surely be the butler’s pantry, I hope the kitchen is not that narrow…and I think Margaret may be right, it certainly looks like the neighboring house is part of the parcel.

I don’t mind a few close up photos of details but it would be great to see overall shots of the layout of the rooms as well. I am a long time fan of residential architecture but I don’t see this as a Victorian style home although there are some features that resemble that era.

Love the emerging scary thing made from a cut off branch on the tree. Imagination and fun.

I’m a bit confused by the house next door – it appears to open into the yard of the listed house (within the fenced part), and it looks like it’s a bit of a liability if it’s dangerous (falling down?). Other than that, so much potential here in the house and carriage house!

I love the stain glass on the stairs but fail to understand the curtains. Why would anybody want to cover up those windows!

This house has a lot of old patina on the floors and woodwork that I love, not the shiny plastic refinishing seen on so many. Polyurethane is the evil enemy IMO.

We often comment about the carpet needing to go; these people have been paying attention and already ripped it out. I like the exterior better than interior. I think it is very odd they would show pics of the white house opening into the same fenced yard, but not mention it at all in the description. Maybe the lot line runs right between the 2 houses, they were owned by family members who chose to share the yard?

The sale apparently fell through on this one, it’s pending status has been removed. Sure looks like a bargain.
