Longfield, once one of the most elegant houses in Bristol, is a rare example of the American Wooden Gothic Revival Style built to perfection in 1848. Listed on the National Register in 1972 because of its importance architecturally and socially, it needs a total rehabilitation now. Originally designed by RI's premier architect of the day, Russell Warren, for Charles Dana Gibson and his bride Abby DeWolf, it is located on just over 1 acre of land set back from Hope Street.
