Are all the cupboard doors really missing? Honestly. Really cool house, I love the glimpse of the back stairway. I am a sucker for a house with back stairs.

Ooh, I like this. Take some paint off the brick to get a whitewash look, landscape and put glass on the porch and this house will look gorgeous. The inside appears very original so you won’t have to undo work for the most part. I wonder if you could find the kitchen cabinet doors? This place has some very good bones from what I can see and it looks like it has a 3 car carport. It looks like it is close to Shreveport, LA and only $69,000. Very doable to have a great old house.

In Greek mythology, the Elysian fields was a heavenly place the Heroes went after death – a Paradise where residents weren’t even aware they were dead.
I don’t know if this place is that great, but it looks very pleasant and you can buy a fine old house there for cheap and make it your own little Paradise.

What a comfortable home this would be. Would love to see more of it. Oh, that side porch with the lattice is just divine. I agree remove some of the white paint and then plant ivy. I’m a sucker for that insidious snake infested stuff!

Wow for 69K this is the bargain of the year. Finally a kitchen I really like. And an incredible library and I bet Ross passed out when he saw that light fixture.

Elysian Fields is small town East Texas, (an area which is generally slower paced, more conservative and traditionally “Southern” in culture) This house in streetview is on “Main Street” which is barely a paved road. But even for a house in a small sleepy East Texas town, this house seems bargain priced. Inside it needs sprucing up but it appears better than a house in the “good bones” category. Nice size pool but it too might require some work. Large one acre lot. I can imagine this was someone’s dream home for many years but it has since declined. Notice the abundance of Shiplap walls…Joanna Gaines from HGTV’s Fixer-Upper show would swoon over that. She likes to paint Shiplap boards for a rustic decorative effect. They were originally made to be covered up with wallpaper and never seen.

I am in Marshall just closed on my fixer upper this week. I will have to drive by this one in the morning.

I did not see photos of rooms just close ups of corners, and could not get an idea of the layout of the home.

Joanna Gaines would be in love with this and the shiplap walls….looks like a real bargain…would love to see the finished product…the rendering from the national historic register is beautiful

I live within walking distance of this house and although I’m nearly a year late, I want to say thank you for saving it! I’ve been in love with this house since I first laid eyes on it!
