I have stayed in this B&B and it even more beautiful than in the pictures.

    The woodwork is just stunning!

Oh my goodness, the entry hall and stairway made me drool a little. The woodwork is almost too much. It looks like it has been very well taken care of, and with the furniture included seems like a very reasonable price for a ready to use home and business.

This house is about 2 blocks from where I live. Before I moved back home to Coldwater, I stayed at this B&B many times. It was beautifully restored in the mid 1980s. It was a boarding house in the 40 s and 50s and looked kind of shabby so it was great to see someone come in and restore the house. There is a ballroom on the third floor which is being used for storage but it would be fun to see it used as a ballroom again for special events. Some of the decorative items like wall paper and curtains are starting to show some age but the house is really beautiful. It will take a certain type of buyer as the location is not very good for a residence, being across the street from the hospital. Chicago Street is the main street through town and is also U.S. 12, a major trucking route. The owner is a lovely person and has been trying to sell the place for about 3 or 4 years. I hope someone will come along and care for it.

Interesting how the wide angle lens fools the eye into thinking the entry hall staircase is grander than it really is when seeing another photo of the staircase with a standard lens. Don’t get me wrong the’re still niceI I prefer the middle stairs in a home compared to ones that rise from the side wall, IMHO.

I worked at this Bed and Breakfast for 7 years. I was always proud to show it off. The pictures definitely do not do it justice. It is absolutely stunning in person. I’m surprised there isn’t more pictures of all the rooms which are equally amazing!

Wow, what beautiful woodwork, made me want to put on a big gown and date a guy named “Rhett”.

I think you’ve found an old listing. I just checked the city tax base and this has gone back to the bank. The owners tried to sell it for 4 years and didn’t get any nibbles.

This must be an old listing. I just checked the city tax rolls and this has gone back to the bank. The owners tried to sell it for 4 years but never got a nibble.

You might be right. I only found the link because Trulia is linking to it but it looked suspect so that’s why I didn’t update the details.

If anyone is interested, this house was sold to a food processing company that is building a facility just outside of town. They plan to use it for temporary housing when people come in from other locations. Of course, they promise to respect the history of the place and all that. We’ll see.
There will be an auction of all the contents of the house nest Wednesday, 29 April 2015. There are some very nice antiques and they may go high but you can never tell. I plan to go observe and see what happens.
