I wasn’t too optimistic about this one, but it got better with each photo (well, maybe until the stretch of bathroom shots). The exterior and yard and setting are all really appealing, and some nice outbuildings and porches, too. Inside it has some fine details, nicely proportioned rooms, and it seems mostly intact, with some modest overlays of more modern features that are mostly good or not bad. I’d change the baths and make some improvements to narrow room (glazed porch?), but the kitchen is a nice space, even the cabinetry looks like it’s the basis for a good, practical, and spacious kitchen.

Do you have any idea who built the home originally? I have tons of ancestors from Christian County and would really like to know if this could have been one of their homes. Do you know if there is any land for sale next to this property?

We bought this house and are still in renovation phase. This house was built by the Gary’s. there were 3 homes built close by only two are left.

Vickie I saved this one to my favorites for that same reason. Some of my ancestors are from Hopkinsville too. If the build date of 1860 is correct, then I think that may have been too late for mine, but maybe not for yours. Good luck!

My ancestors were in Christian County before 1820, the Clark’s, Renshaw’s, Woosley’s and Doss’.
