National Register Property
14031 Shepherds Plain Dr, Pungoteague, VA 23422
Shepherd's Plain, Circa; 1755. A brick ended Georgian style home, with 2000 feet of waterfront on 212 acres. This spectacular display of Eastern Shore craftsmanship is on both the National Registry of Historic Places as well as The Virginia Landmarks Register. Notable is the South end of the home, with its ornate brick work in a Flemish bond pattern & marching quoins up the gabled end. The inside is even more impressive. After its purchase in 1973, Shepherd's Plain underwent a complete restoration. Original heart pine floors, interior doors, hardware & paneling can be found throughout the entire home. Fully paneled walls with fluted pilasters, dentiled cornice, & raised panel wainscoting separate it from many other historical homes on the Eastern Shore. Guest House, & several outbuildings.
