Oh, wow! Look at the views! Yes, please!

I would tear out the drop ceilings and restore it with its history in mind… kind of antique school/industrial style… and be right at home.

Wait, I know I’m replying to my own post, but $415 for taxes?! Surely not! We pay more than that for our 1960s ranch house in suburban middle America!

$415 is astonishingly low even for an unincorporated community like Fort Klamath. The views and nearby wilderness are equally breathtaking. On clear sunny days, the sky can be an intense blue, almost purple color–completely different from somewhere like Ohio! Nearby Crater Lake should be on everyone’s must-see list of natural wonders. Obviously lots of potential in this structure and very little “re-muddling” by the previous owners. Plenty of space in the main building with a perpendicular wing (with yellow siding) at the back. The roof of the wing looks a little rough. The key would be being handy enough to do most of the work yourself, as it’s located so far from any decent-sized towns. It would make a great home for someone who could work from home or a weekend getaway/ holiday retreat. I could see adding a few more acres and growing some food. According to bing and google maps, due west is some sort of (light) industrial/agricultural facility. I would want to check that out to make sure the school is not down-wind from something nasty, like egg production! Finally, given that only a small subset of buyers in that part of the state would be able to take on this property and all the necessary work, $349k is an ambitious price.
