Built in 1793 for the sum of $40,000 by Capt Stephen Howland this Greek Revival house is set on 4 acres on the Westport River. Built of granite from a nearby farm the 3,000 sq ft house features 5 bedrms, two living rooms, wood floors throughout. Some of the elegant details such as mantles, fireplaces, wooden interior shutters, circular staircase, 10 ft ceilings are in their original condition. There is a granite barn and several outbuildings. The property fronts on the Westport River and abutts the Town Landing. A truly original and rare find.
