Oh this a shame.. This area of Maryland has some really great house examples. This one: http://historichometeam.com/network/property/16305-saint-marys-church-road-aquasco-maryland-20608/

Is next to my friends house and before the current owners bought it was mostly original. I used to sit under those enormous trees in the front and loved looking in the front windows where you can see the stairs come down. I used to farm monarch butterflies down there because milkweed grew in abundance. At the corner is a great old cemetery and church and just down from that are probably the only two examples I know of Victorian design in this area. Villa Desales and the Barker/Bowles house, which were built as twin homes to my knowledge. This place really began my love of old houses. I’m going to have one some day. I’m just killing time in Texas until then. 🙂 P.S. I love this site and have probably read the whole thing at least once. Have any of you regular visitors thought about polling resources and grabbing one of these places by the horns?

  2. Super sad. All that beautiful history gone.
