thats a 1$ purchase and hope for a great foundation. I assess houses in the tristate area. I have been in far worse than that one. It shames me to put that big pink X on the door for demolition. If I could find a team of business men to dismantle these houses and then salvage what can be reused. Too many people are restoring and cant find the eastlake hinges or the push button lights, or that brick that matches just perfect… I know with my house being stripped out I got the idea. I had a hell of a time replacing my fireplace. It would take the cost and burdon off the city. The foundations would be left and a single story home would be built of the same period as the rest of the houses. I cant stand filler houses.

Do you know what happened to this house?

Hi there. This mansion belonged to my family, the Randersons. They were one of the richest families in the area at the turn of the century. It is said that John P. Randerson bought the house for $20,000 and paid off the mortgage in one year.

Did it get demolished? Do you have any additional information on the house? Photos?

Thank you for posting on this website. It makes me happy to see other people care about historical homes.

as of Jan 2015 it was still standing but it sounds like it could fall in on itself any minute or the potential of being demolished due to the condition.

          Hi Kelly,

I have movie footage of this house from the 1920s and 1930s. Is there a historical society I can share these old home movies with? I really want to save this house from destruction. It has so much history!

          Thanks,
          Lauren

It says on here it was built in 1879. But basically this house is amazing, and thank you for posting pictures of the inside! I was so curious.

Still standing but in very real danger. Haven’t seen inside but it’s probably close to being lost.

    Can somebody–ANYBODY–save this house???
    PLEASE!!!

    • Hi, I’m attempting to get into contact to save it from being torn down, however it’s been difficult, if there are people willing to help me get into contact with the correct people to gain ownership and prevent it from being torn down, I’d very much love to take this restoration on as a project!
I’d like to stabilize the foundation and outside of the mansion,
Restore the exterior to its former beauty and glory, and modernize the inside with multi purpose functionality. My email is AbuHorayra93@gmail.com if anyone has any information please feel free to contact me! I can definitely post pictures along the way!
