Editor Evening News:
Six or eight weeks ago I calculated that there were 50 tons of mud on Main street between Chippewa and dock and you kindly made note of it. Now I am certain I was greatly “off” in my calculation as to amount of mud. It is near 150 tons. Main street, your name is MUD. Mr. Baynes and city fathers, look at, walk on and smell Main street and if your bowels of compassion are not moved for poor humanity and the brute creatures, you are beyond redemption and I give it up.
