National Register Property

57845 Plaquemine St, Plaquemine, LA 70764

LISTING AGENT MUST BE PRESENT FOR ALL SHOWINGS. Historic home on Corner lot in the City of Plaquemine Historic District and Main Street District. The Middleton home was built on a Spanish land Grant prior to 1842. Sanborn maps show the home present in the late 1700's. (Possibly 1779) This structure has been in the same family for the last 175+ years and the time has come for it to have its rebirth into the next chapter of its life! This property can qualify for some restoration tax incentives and possibly state and federal grants to aid in its restoration. This property will need tender love and care but has much potential. Can be used for residential purposes, or converted to commercial use as well. Possible uses are Bed and breakfast, event venue, offices or museum/tourism uses. The home can also be registered individually as an Historic Landmark. The sellers will consider placement of an Historic Preservation Easement to protect the home from demolition. The family and the City of Plaquemine would love to see this home brought back to its past condition as one of the oldest surviving structures in the City!
