An awesome house built for grocery merchant William Thomas Hughes (1852-1926), designed by the Fort Wayne firm of Wing & Mahurin and built for $15,000. Hughes and wife Margaret Davis, both children of Welsh immigrants, lived there for the rest of their lives and son William and his family were there for decades also.
The house was altered for use as a nursing home and later offices before the present owner renovated it in recent years.

Stove is a Heartland Classic 48 inch electric range. Discontinued in 2018. They came in gas and dual fuel. LOVE IT! Made me swoon and very jealous.

    An absolute beauty.

  10. Methinks Majestic house needs to be in a more elegant setting. Surrounded by 20 acres of manicured gothic gardens and lakes. And a couple of fountains thrown in for good measure!
Then decorated in spare French Shabby Chateau style with my one off pieces of self restored French chaise lounges and chairs, armoirs, tables, French medieval tapestries etc. Some cats and a French Bulldog named Pom Pom complete my dream picture!
