Kelly, you have me packing my bags and moving all over the country on a weekly basis. I mentally arrange my furniture in each one. Being a light fixture nut this place just sends me there. To say nothing of the woodwork and the stone work. And I just love Tudors anyway, they seem so regal. What a treasure this place is!!

Plenty of mansion grade detail within this architecturally intersecting Tudor. Here are a couple links to show the house prior to the trees and without the overdone HDR on the real estate pics.

This house is alot of fun to look at. I enjoy the decorative elements to the roofline, and then inside, the dining room is such a wonderful space. I love the fabric wall covering and the design detail in the paneling set up high. The lights are great. I find the rest of the wall covering distracting, except for that in the handpainted details to the wall and ceiling of the staircase and upstairs hallway. The kitchens are fun. Amazing place…I need a breather now.

I know better than to get on OHD when I’m at work. I almost drove off the wharf over that dining room. This one gets my vote for the OHD Clubhouse.

I’m a novice when it comes to home styles but this seems to be equal parts Tudor and craftsman. It works really well.

I don’t see any mention in the listing of apartments and yet there certainly seem to be at least two additional living quarters somewhere in the house or on the property, which are themselves rocking some cool 50’s vibes.

This is a palace. The ambiance, the emotional security, the stairway, the windows, woodwork..I can’t handle it.
    Thank you.

I have a weakness for nice stain glass windows. I love the one in the staircase! The wall finish in the upper stair hall looks original! Am I seeing that right? I love the original bath fixtures!

The only thing I really don’t like about this house are the vines on the exterior. It’s sure to cause damage if left in place!

This place really does seem like a “fortress”. Just look at the thickness of those walls!

Talk about a sense of permanence. Sheesh.

Soooooo not an elevator? See door with translucent glass, diamond mullioned window:

There is SO much to see and admire here. WOW. From the Ludowici glazed tile roof, to the generation 1, oak and marble fuse box, (L O V E THAT!), this place is super quality deeeeeeluxe!

WHAT a beautiful stair. WOW and more wow.

An excellent listing. Very, VERY well done. I could pour over images and descriptions of this fine house for hours: and it’s not even my bag! 🙂

  15. I want to have a fortress.

I want to have a fortress with a swanky dining hall, a funky 50’s kitchen, and scary electrical systems.

I would turn the third floor back into a ballroom. It looks like there’s a built in bench seat running around the room.

I keep on thinking about this place. That this is in Kansas is causing me to adjust my preconceptions.
