Beautiful exterior! I don’t even mind the painted woodwork inside. Hate to see this beauty lost. Hope someone gives her a facelift.

    Wish I lived in Danville………

I grew up just north of here. This is a wonderful home with a lot of potential. Vermilion Street has a lot of beautiful homes. A few blocks south of this home on the corner of Vermilion and Roselawn is the Julius Hegeler mansion (Hegeler/Carus fame and the zinc business) . Julius Hegeler II still lives in the home and has gifted the city and junior college with much funding through his foundation.

There is another gorgeous historic property for sale on the lake.

Nice house, but what is stunning is the price. Only $95K!? Danville, IL not to be confused with Danville, CA, that is for sure.

The small cities in the midwest have fabulously affordable housing. If this house were smaller I’d consider early retirement and move into it.

I have a friend who used to live in Danville. It’s a nice small town, decent shopping there and only 30 minutes from Champaign-Urbana which is much larger city and has lots of amenities. I think Danville is like 3 hours from Chicago. If I could move to Danville I would. Love this house. Check out the street view, it’s super cool.

    Love the vintage blue bathroom!

I’m one of those who likes all of the white painted woodwork, provided it’s done correctly. Remove some carpet and wallpaper to give it a nice, clean slate and it would be ready to customize! Beautiful home with loads of potential!

Red carpet out. Hard wood in. Furnace looks rough, floors that are there needing to re-sanded. Love it!

This home has the potential to be stunning! The kitchen could be a real showcase with those bank of windows & large breakfast area with wooded view.
Greek Revival front…beautiful. The Carriage House with Cupola! Oh my, park your cars and have a Studio outfitted above! Wow.

There are numerous houses in Danville that would be wonderful to renovate.
A quick peek at the community data in City Data will reveal a perplexingly high crime rate for a rural community. Danville was subject to a brilliant feat of Illinois social engineering with the relocation of large numbers of families on section 8 assistance to Danville due to the shortage of section 8 housing in urban areas where apartment building stock has been shifted towards condo ownership. Danville has been struggling with the load on schools and public services since.

Lovely grand old girl, and a fireplace in the front hall. What a great way to greet guests in winter! This house would reward anyone who gave it back its former polish.

Stunning house with a stunning price! I’d love to tear out those carpets, tear down that wallpaper, add some paint and a new kitchen. Love the old bathroom with the original toilet! I don’t know what you call those huge tanks with the ceramic handles, but I love them! The street view is charming too. Wish I could move to Danville! This house deserves to be well-treated as she is a beauty!

That’s a lot of house for the money. There is certainly a bit of work but nothing looks too daunting. It is on a busy street but the neighboring houses are very nice!

OMG I adore this house! I wonder how much it would cost to renovate and the upkeep?

This home is no longer on the market. It was pending sale so I don’t know if it sold or what, I’d suggest contacting the agent to know for sure.

A young couple purchased this property and has started renovating–They are going to do a great job!
