My name is Kelly DeLong, the owner of Old House Dreams. This is a blog featuring old homes I find for sale across the nation.

This isn’t me, silly. Lucy is here to fancy up this page. She’s the official unofficial mascot.

I’ve been fascinated with houses since I was a teenager. Instead of reading the latest Seventeen magazine, I picked up real estate magazines, cutting out my favorite houses and pasting them on sheets of paper. Technology has come a ways since then and now this blog is my collection of house finds. I use to fill up my moms inbox with emails of houses that neither of us could ever buy but we both enjoyed looking at. I figured if she enjoyed them, perhaps there are others that would as well. So here we are, nearly 4 years and 2500+ readers later.

Although I’ve set up this website to search houses by price, square footage, acreage, it wasn’t meant to be like a listing site. I’ve made it that way because it makes finding particular houses to day dream about easier. This blog is intended to inspire those that love old houses, that own old houses and like to dream about old houses. Occasionally it results in someone being inspired enough to act and purchase one.

My stated opinions are not based on any expertise, just my silly thoughts, which may or may not offend the sellers, agents, readers, your neighbors, their neighbors, your dog, cat, fish or pet rock. The opinions of the commentors do not reflect my opinion, the opinion of the sellers, agents, neighbors, the town, county and state the house resides in or the house itself. As my math teacher use to say, “I ain’t no English teacher.”, expect bad grammar and punctuation mistakes.

Information gathered at the time of posting and thereafter is deemed reliable but is subject to change and independent verification. As in: nothing is certain in life and things may change after the fact. Sometimes you actually have to take it upon yourself to look into matters to make sure it is what it is. I cannot schedule tours, introduce you to ghosts, floating dust particles reflecting light (otherwise known as orbs) or any entity that may or may not reside in the home, nor tell you anything more than what was provided in the listing details.

There are 2000+/- houses on this website and it is impossible for me to be current on their status or update immediately when they go off market. Nothing here is automatically updated. Until I know it, I don’t know it therefore cannot change it until then.
