12147 S Harvard Ave, Chicago, IL 60628 - For Sale*

The Foster House is one of the few surviving buildings in Chicago designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, one of the world's most famous architects. Its Japanese-influenced design stands as an important part of the development of Wright's influential architectural style. The house and its stable were constructed as a summer residence for Stephen Foster, an attorney who was a member of the real estate group that developed this portion of West Pullman. The home is a registered Chicago Landmark and much of the prestigious FLW craftsmanship has been preserved. The original hardwood floors were refinished and covered up with carpeting shortly after being done. The 3rd floor walk-up attic can easily be converted to add even more living space to this one of a kind gem! Spend your summer evenings on the massive screened-in porch overlooking the nearly half acre private park-like yard that is completely fenced in! The original stable house is still standing and now serves as a 2+ car garage.

Buy where you can own your own view,” was Frank Lloyd Wright’s earliest piece of advice to Virginia and Don Lovness when they first met the legendary architect in 1954. Because of this, the couple purchased twenty acres of serene lakefront property in Stillwater, Minnesota. Mr. Wright was so impressed by the couple’s ambition and willingness to build a home themselves, that he personally designed and presented the Lovnesses with plans for an 1800 square foot Usonian home, complete with a children’s wing and master suite.

1924 Modern – Los Angeles, CA – Sold

2607 Glendower Ave, Los Angeles, CA - Sold*

The Ennis House is a residential dwelling in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, USA, south of Griffith Park. The home was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for Charles and Mabel Ennis in 1923, and built in 1924. Following La Miniatura in Pasadena, and the Storer- and Freeman-houses in the Hollywood Hills, the structure is the fourth and largest of Wright's textile block designs, constructed primarily of interlocking pre-cast concrete block, in northern Los Angeles. The design is based on ancient Mayan temples and along with other buildings by Frank Lloyd Wright, such as the A. D. German Warehouse in Wisconsin and Aline Barnsdall Hollyhock House in Hollywood, the Ennis House is sometimes referred to as an example of the Mayan Revival architecture. Its prominent detail is the relief ornamentation on its textile blocks, inspired by the symmetrical reliefs of Mayan buildings in Uxmal. [3] The Ennis House is a designated city, state, and national landmark.
