This spectacular property is home to the historic St. Paul's Episcopal Church, situated on over six acres. The 1839-built church (rebuilt in 1855 after a fire) was abandoned in the 1950s and finally, lovingly restored as an iconic residence in the 1990s. The property consists of two parcels - Lot 1 (3 acres), the parcel with the residence and Lot 2 (3.372 acres), which faces Hastings Road and is a buildable lot. Perfect opportunity to use the church as a VRBO/AirBB, and then build on the rest of the property -- OR keep all the beauty and serenity to yourself! Floor-to-ceiling windows and 16-feet pine ceilings allow natural light to pour in, creating the most peaceful setting imaginable. There are three bedrooms, including one on the first floor, and two full bathrooms. There is a shed and barn (both sold as is, in need of repair). Be sure to read more about the history and restoration in the attachments.

Love it. I think they did a good job making it a home. I don’t really see anything that needs doing.

Wonderful. I don’t care for the placement of the wood stove.

Yea, while it does sit in the middle of the space and chops things up, limiting options as far as furniture, etc., it is the ideal location to heat the space! I’ve had a cabin that had only a wood stove to heat it, and this is the ideal location for the task.

I can’t see much, if any, of the church it once was but it’s a very nice, unique home nonetheless.

A small rudimentary church built in 1855 in rural Virginia probably didnt have that much to distinguish it as a church even at the time. Some pews, a pulpit and a cross on the wall? It appears to have been a modest building.

Wow! I am generally not a fan of church conversions but this is the best one I’ve ever seen!
