This is REALLY nice but I think they meant the “undated” kitchen not updated. Lord preserve us from Home Depot. If they’re spending money anyway, spend a little more and get something that at least resembles the rest of the house.
Anyway, I want that window and the window seat and the built-in is pretty choice too. Most of this house is thankfully pretty original. The outside is super.

This house is gorgeous and what a great price! Yes I wish they had left the kitchen and bathrooms alone but the rest of it is wonderful with all the original carpentry. I could happily spend years fixing it up.

What a lovely home. Props to the owners for not painting all that beautiful woodwork.

I’m reminded of Craftsman-loving author Jane Powell, who said that if you update the kitchen and bathrooms in a home’s period style, it will never look dated or out of place. That doesn’t mean you have to draw water from a well or live without appliances. If you’re always chasing the latest Style du Dépôt à Domicile, your space will look dated after a few years and cringeworthy in a decade. Of course, that’s how stores get you to buy, buy, buy.

My husband and I have been considering Spokane as a possible retirement location. Too bad this one is on market now because it’s spectacular. I agree the kitchen’s not much to write home about, but that can be dealt with. OOOOh, wouldn’t I love it! We’re about 75% finished with restoring our Mid Century (modest) home here in OR, and we love it, but our hearts are always with a Craftsman. That is the style of home that was our very first restoration (35yrs ago!) and we have a lot of craftsman furniture that would be perfect in this house! Oh jeez. . . .
