The People's Bank of Glenford was built in 1919. A unique octagonal brick building on the National Register of Historic Places. It operated as a bank until 1932. A 7 year painstaking renovation created a unique and functional living space. Original pieces from the bank were returned during the restoration and are found throughout the home. Former bank rooms have transformed into living spaces. Large windows provide tons of light throughout the home. Imagine the possibilities as a destination location, store front, or bed & breakfast. Adjacent carriage house is fit for an artist and their studio, extended family, airbnb, or car collector (not included in sale; buyer has right of first refusal). Come see all the possibilities!

The most amazing conversion I’ve ever seen! I’m in awe!
I’m nearly speechless, they really took thar time
My aunt and uncle did the restoration, Tom and Marian McCullough. The last time I stood in The Bank was after my mother’s memorial service. The restoration is VERY well done and my uncle describes it in detail in his book. If I had the money, is being it back into the family.
Just spectacular! Somehow it seems British to me, Don’t know why. Well done.

This is an impressive space! It took a bit of effort to tie in the new woodwork with the existing woodwork, not to mention designing the home within an existing space. The table in the entry that is a skylight into the lower level is a particularly nice touch!
My uncle took his time. He researched it for years before he touched anything!

Well, he nailed it! You have every right to be proud of him. It really is quite an impressive transformation.

Amazing! I had initial doubts, but they nailed it!
WOW, if you’re looking for a soundproof bathroom you can’t do better than a bank vault! Incredible conversion!

I always wanted a vaulted bathroom.
I’m in love…what a marvelous transformation! I could live there in a heartbeat….
Wow! The attention to detail and how the new was blended so carefully with the old is amazing. I love their use of space and the warm wood tones.

How cool, great job of transforming a bank into a home! Lovely woodwork, and keeping so many original elements, yet livable and handsome/pretty!
This octagonal building, a bank no less, has been quite amazingly restored as a residence. I once lived in the next block from this infamous (link) octagon home for about 3 years. TPTB said she was too far gone to save on valuable land on Rt 20 – with tears in my eyes, being newly married with dreams we could not yet even attempt, they paved paradise and put in a most convenient grocery store and strip storefronts…ah, progress gained; preservation opportunity lost!
