Wow this house is amazing! Inside pictures make me feel as though I have stepped back in time. So sad to see this and the other pretty homes nearby being over taken by “progress.”😢

I can’t tell if the four steps we can see of the stairs above the landing have very prominent noses or if the risers are angled. The treads also seem to be of different depths. It’s one thing for that to be in a house like mine, where the staircase has been turned, squished, completely reoriented, and then carpeted over to try to hide some sins, but I’ve not seen it in a house that obviously has had great care. The main staircase is beautifully even, so can someone more versed in this say if that’s an original feature, if it’s likely an accommodation made over the years to add or reduce the number of steps, or if I’m seeing things?

It may be just that funky filter/”lens” some realtor pics employ that stretch things out annoyingly.

But as for uneven risers/treads: I once slipped down the last 3 steps of a house I was viewing, chalked it up to distracted excitement, bought it in spite of this omen, and slid down those steps painfully & often, as did my poor gangly dog. Knowing they are there doesn’t really register once you get in a rhythm.

But this is a lovely house (in a town that straddles the VA/TN state line!).

Gorgeous! I love the kitchen and the outdoor spaces in particular.
