Wow. The stair and the interior door and window casing is alone worth the low price of admission. I think the exterior may have lost some bracketing along the way but it is still one fine looking home.

Lovely, though I’d change some of the interior paint colors. Nice kitchen!

This house probably started out with brick cladding on the exterior. Exposure to 150 years of Ohio winters takes its toll on the soft bricks from the mid 19th century. The solution is to parge/cover the exterior with stucco as seen here. Restoring the original exposed bricks is all but impossible so stucco is an acceptable compromise for many. The interior displays fine millwork from the period and overall, the house looks relatively intact. I especially like the classic Italianate style newel post and winding staircase at the entry.

Am I imagining it, or in picture #9, does the wall at the back include a bricked over area which might have been the original large fireplace/hearth for the kitchen? You can see it in picture 10 as well.

I can’t remember seeing an Italianate that I didn’t like (yes, some more than others) and this is no exception. I like how it sits there looking grand and, well, proud of itself. I like the attractive interior especially that gorgeous staircase.
