Quite a charming house and nicely decorated in my opinion. I love the barn/carriage house in the back.

This is a D.S. Hopkins design. It was featured in a publication of the Builder and Wood-Worker. It was in an April addition but I forgot which year.

    1875 Limestone house
    Langeais, Loire Valley,

What a beautiful and interesting house! Love the rounded walls.

I see a 1880 construction date, so that would be transitional between Italianates and Queen Anns. On the exterior the house is leaning towards Victorian Queens, but inside I see an Italianate newel post and bannister. But a segmented (and hidden past landing) staircase more common in Queen Anns. I see backband casing around doors and windows, arched openings. Which would suggest Italianate. This is such an interesting mix!
