Anyone else an Alexander McCall Smith fan? He has created a character, Clovis Anderson who has written a book called the “Principles of Private Detection” and Clovis Anderson hails from Muncie Indiana.

So sad the owners had to move before completing their restoration. It looks as if they did a nice job on the work they were able to do.

Gorgeous Italianate. I like the wallpaper and borders they have chosen for the front & back parlors. The beautiful marble sink and brass brackets in the bathroom. Looks like some of the inside rooms just need cosmetic work. The real work is on the exterior, back of the house. Great price.

Image 20…on the feet of the bed frame…what are those for (in my mind it’s to prevent rodents from climbing up the bed)?

They’re risers so you can put more stuff under the bed. I’ve been looking for some and that’s about as attractive as they get.

Thank you. I recently read a comment from an individual suggesting that to prevent mice from climbing the legs of your bed, you should put the legs in Mason jars. Ever since then, things like these (bed risers) are for that (rodent prevention).

        Perhaps if you paint them?

Please help me out to understand. This house was given a Historic Preservation award for it’s restoration in 1988. Did the house fall into disrepair since that time so that the owners had to restore it again? Any thoughts on this?

Is this a misprint? Shouldn’t there be a 1 in front of the price? What a beautiful house. Seems like most of the work is done.
