I’d like to commend the owners for taking such care of this beauty, and just say it’s just so nicely done. Just look at how timeless this place is. It’s so grand but not overdone or pretentious. Houses like this just have an authenticity that makes the grandeur so settled and legit. And the triple chandeliers in the dining room! See, even THAT looks proper in this house. Sold!! Imagine triple chandeliers in a new McMansion — fail — wannabe — fake. But this is the real deal.

Very nice, really appreciate the exterior doors opening to the interior 2nd set of doors; how nice in cold & hot weather conditions. Love the incredibly beautiful staircase and the newel post, it is simply awesome! Transoms are such a welcome feature over the doors lending just enough light as to make the hallways not dark. That bedroom (pic 25) with the fireplace looks so warm and cozy, the perfect spot for a restful night. Even down to the wrought iron gates; secure yet inviting, this home is ever so attractive and speaks of a gentler time in history.

The front doors, entry and staircase are beautiful! The two story porch on the front is nice!

The 1st “thud” you heard was my jaw on the floor when I saw the staircase and chandelier! The 2nd thud was the same event but for the MATCHING TRIPLE (yes there are 3 … oh the joy!) CHANDELIERS in the dining room! I’m not surprised there is a stream of business for this B&B. I would be certain to stay there should I be visiting Vicksburg. As a matter of fact, I feel a vacation coming on ….

My condolences to the home owners for having to sell. What a splendid home! I must admit though, after seeing all the historic grandeur and the beauty on the exterior and the other rooms I had hoped the bathrooms would be a bit more old school. I would have loved to see a claw foot tub or two, but I guess being a B&B they are trying to make general customers happy with more modern amenities.

As a BnB owner, I can see some really good points not mentioned. I agree with all the comments about the wonderful finishes, transom windows which are so elegant with their etched glass, great bathrooms and bedrooms. I would love to have that huge laundry area, which I assume is in the basement, as are some of the bathrooms.
What makes this especially great is all the parking across the street. it is so vital to have enough parking spaces, which I cannot emphasize enough. Back when these houses were built, no thought was given to autos of course, but we cannot travel without them. Having that parking area just across the street is priceless and vital.
I also noted the built in storage in the upper hallway. Oh to have all that in my poor house! The utter luxury of being able to find exactly which set of sheets, extra pillows, down comforters when needed. I’m in the attic for all of my out of season things. This was clearly a luxurious house when built, and it has been beautifully maintained and classily remodeled with modern conveniences. Kudos to he owners. I understand the need to sell. I am looking to find someone I can turn the day to day of my house over to, so I could start on another one, lol! I will never sell, as I started the resurrection of my community back in ’74, and feel so imbedded as this is my legacy. It’s too hard to sell the baby you have worked so many years restoring.
