Here is an old photo when it was still in service. It was moved to current location.

This has to be one of the nicest depot conversions I’ve ever seen.

Turning old Train Depots into residences, is very clever and an excellent conservation measure for Historic buildings. This one is utterly charming and renews the life of the Depot. One could use such a residence as a vacation property or primary residence for an unencumbered couple.

My husband, total train buff, would probably kill for this home.

So cute – and right near me! I found a couple sites that talk a bit about this depot – from what I see on a few sites, looks like it was actually built around 1910 to replace the previous depot after it burnt down in 1908. It was moved from Stokesdale to Madison in 1977. I’m so glad it was moved with such care. I love that little railing/gate inside! I wish I could find historic interior pics from when it was in service back in Stokesdale.
