    1885 Italianate.

This is really really cute. What kind of hardwood is the flooring, or is it painted,? Additional 13 acres bonus.

It might not be hardwood floors. Lots of homes have pine flooring. The pine is usually wider than the oak and other hardwood.
I was wondering if it is painted red or stain.
Lots of old homes had the tongue and groove floorboards.
Usually 6 inch boards and the really old houses had wide pine floor boards and usually not tongue and groove and they would shrink over the years and have gaps in between them.

An appealing house — and likely built well before 1882. Judging by the fireplace mantel and 9-over-9 windows in the dining room (8th photo from the bottom), this place is easily antebellum. Also note that the transom over the entry is a bit wide for the c. 1905 door and sidelights which replaced the originals. The chimneys also suggest an earlier build date.

I loved the kitchen. It makes me so happy to see them make use of the soffit for storage instead of leaving all that space empty and useless. Makes a wonderful place to put those little used items that you don’t want as far as the attic or such. The rest of the house has that comfortable cottage feel.

Super cute! And who wouldn’t want to live in a town named Eclectic?!
