OHD Notes
From a historic survey: "This house was originally located about half a mile up-river at 378 Main Street. It was built by Benjamin Morrill on a lot of land he purchased on Feb. 8, 1808....Benjamin Morrill married (as his second wife) Miriam Pecker of Amesbury on November 13, 1808 and most likely this house was completed by that date. After the death of Benjamin in 1869, the house passed to his son Edwin Morrill (1830-1912). Edwin was a successful carriage manufacturer, with his factory located in the rear of Laurel Place. About 1877 he removed his father's old house from the lot and built a large Victorian house on the site. This Victorian house was taken down after Edwin's death and the property now serves as parking for 376 Main Street.

On May 5, 1877 George H. Morrill sold the lot at 454 Main Street to Samuel True (born 1846), a boat builder and maker of boat knees. Samuel True obtained the old Benjamin Morrill half house from Edwin Morrill, and about this time moved it from 378 Main Street to his lot at 454 Main Street. Samuel True resided here for many years, and is listed in the Amesbury Directory as late as 1931 (this area was originally part of the West Parish of Salisbury, which was annexed to Amesbury in 1886.)"

    1885 Italianate.

I always do a street view before looking at houses if it’s available. This is a BEAUTIFUL home, and very lovely area, almost smell all the flowers and gardens and water, and see the boats. LOVE.

Lovely home. Cozy with a view. Space to relax. Winters could be tough, but good time for reading by the fire.

This home is one that has always caught my eye from the water. What a treat to get to see the interior. This is a great price for that area! Property taxes are higher in Amesbury.
