Harmony Row is a historical Springfield Center home that is spacious and full of light with original refinished hemlock floors. The open, airy kitchen contains a wood-burning stove and has large, new windows looking out on a tranquil, landscaped backyard. The furnace is recently new as are many appliances. Enjoy the enclosed sunroom with large windows framing the view of Mount Wellington or relax on the back deck and listen to the soothing babble of the stream that borders the yard (this home and yard do not have issues with water or flooding). Originally built in the mid-1800's to house mill workers and hop pickers, the home has been fully restored and has an abundance of space, including a master suite and 6 additional rooms upstairs alone. This is truly a unique house that must be seen to be fully appreciated. The property includes an additional parcel (41.06-1-28.00) across the street with a barn/garage (electric door opener) that was originally a farriery, and another house (currently used for storage). The 'extra' house could be fixed up and used for rental income. The property also enjoys the rights to Otsego Lake at the Springfield Landing, where you can swim, enjoy a picnic, and launch watercraft. Dock spaces are available by waiting list. A short distance from historic Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame, this home would also make a terrific Dreams Park rental.

What a lovely property! I love all the windows which give so much light to the interior spaces. The floors are so pretty. Intrigued by the possibilities of the barn and additional house across the street. The blooming flowers are gorgeous. Someone will be lucky to live here.

An 1868 map shows this as the tenant house of James W. Shipman (1831-1891), a local merchant and owner of an ironworks at the edge of the village. The works made springs and axles for wagons, though their specialty was casting parts for iron bridges. Shipman’s uncle was Squire Whipple, the Father of the Iron Bridge, and the Shipmans built many of them including the first ever constructed.

An attractive house and property! Otsego County is known for its quaint villages, and Springfield Center may be the quaintest one.

I too love all the natural light! And the backyard-this would be great for an itchy green thumb. Lovely house, love the colors used in it!
