One of a few beautiful homes on this street. I am also tempted to post this gorgeous building in downtown: https://www.movoto.com/home/205-main-paris-ky-40361-862_1904534

OMG do it! That place is BONKERS RAD. I’ve seen a bunch of sort of re-use, over the store, conversions; but they are usually done by (sorry), clueless, boomer retirees, and almost always have a very tract house aesthetic. THIS is A M A Z I N G; and the best part about it is the building! Those windows! That S U P E R L A T I V E restored, original, iron, store facade with it’s thrilling doors. Wooooooowwww. Please post it.

Also; this house is Soooooooo beautiful. Wow and more wows. Nice. Such a feast of great fixtures on top of it all; with a few VERY fine mantle and fire surrounds. Big kudos to whoever had the patience to search this city. So many of them have been radically altered: and it’s just too painful for me to do it. It’s a lot like searching the Chicago inner loop = depressing mostly.

Duh. Yawwwwn. Thought this was Louisville. That city is painful to search.

Louisville gets the same HGTV treatment as in other cities. Lots of white and gray. But properties go super fast here too, I hope this one never receives that treatment.

This one and the downtown building are stunning. Was surprised by how many beautiful homes are on Duncan Ave. Did have to laugh at how far I am out of being a young person when a selling point is having a bar in the bedroom – and I laughed.

Beautiful house inside and out! I would be tempted to change the upstairs bathroom with the neo-angle shower and corner tub if it was mine and take it back to something more period appropriate. Many thanks to the owners for being good caretakers of this nice home!

That place is perfect. So sturdy looking. And I adore the wallpaper in the dining room.

All the houses on this street are so appealing and well-cared-for. I read that Paris KY preserved many of the buildings on Main St. My kind of town.

What an astonishing, beautiful house! A delicious slice of Victorian life. My only quibble would be with some of the (very)busy wall papers—and yes, I know it’s SOP for this period. I agree with Michael above with the comment about the bathroom, but all in all, it’s just a comfy, pretty place. I even like the kitchen 🙂

This is a fine house that would look great with more period detailing, if not excessive Victoriana. I think the exterior would look better with darker trim as well. I like the bird themed dining room a lot!
Note to realtors: Encourage your sellers to clean out their homes before marketing, but leave enough furniture and a few carpets to give the rooms a sense of scale. It’s done perfectly here.

Well that cattle gate surprised me, little unexpected.

Great house! So many things to compliment. As others have said, something a little more period correct for the bathroom would be nice.
Kitchen is brand new, but I would liked to have made it match the house a bit more. Wonder what the original would have looked like. Big wood stove I’m sure.

    This house is beautiful. Truely.
Fireplace tiles in picture ten. Anyone else see how the branch doesn’t connect? Interesting. I wonder if either someone had to reset these tiles and put them in wrong or if the design wasn’t built properly to connect on both side. Unique. I love the ornamental tiles from this period none the less.

As all say above, Kitchen and bathroom remodel for me. Other than that this house is totally amazing! Now if I can somehow get it from KY to CT.
