The cabinets are attractive, but where am I supposed to put my KitchenAid Professional 600 mixer? It wouldn’t fit on those counters. At least these cabinets have toe-kicks. I’ve been in Frank Lloyd Wright houses where the kitchen cabinets didn’t have bloody toe-kicks…

Maybe there is more cabinetry or counter space on the other side of the kitchen for your mixer 😉

A nice oak Hoosier baking cabinet would work great if there’s room.

This is a lovely little place in a pretty area known for its oysters. Looks totally livable for not much money.

Unbelievable, that they are in such good condition for being as old as they are. They are phenomenal.

Seems like a cute enough little home. I wonder what is going on with that little house that is to the left of it in between what would be the “lot” because it is boarded up like there may be plans to do something with that particular area??? Price seems somewhat reasonable, not knowing what lies underneath…

The house next to the lot had a fire. One side has a burned area. I’m sure this house is fine. The price on it matches the other homes in the area. South Bend is the county seat but has less than 2000 residents. It isn’t close to any of the cities so there wouldn’t be much to commute to. The largest town in the county is Raymond, and it only has 20,000 people. That said, Washington is beautiful, and a lot of people choose a more back to basics lifestyle. You’d be surprised at how many small farmers there are here. As I type this I’m sitting in a hotel in Forks Washington, which makes my hometown look like a booming metropolis.

I grew up in Cosmopolis (about 30 minutes away) and live in Hoquiam. Raymond has approximately 3000 residents. So. Bend is 30 minutes from Aberdeen/Hoquiam and an hour from Chehalis or Astoria, OR. It is a delightful place to retire or to escape city life. There is a wonderful, small hospital there as well as a simple way of life.

I love the kitchen cabinets; probably in a way that’s not healthy, but it’s my way!

LOVE the house; the problem for me is the annual precipitation. They actually get more rain there than in my hometown of Juneau, and that’s saying something!
(But those K cabinets would almost be worth it…)
