I included the latest street view from Google, last photo. Build date on record is 1915 which is always possible but for the exterior design of this home would have been more popular for pre-1910 (the interior woodwork post-1900 so somewhere between that.)

There is a house on my street almost identical to this designed by an architect named Hallett. (Iowa) I wonder if this was a plan book or template house? Lots to like about this one. I hope someone puts some color back on the exterior!

It does feel like a planbook house – the work of an architect but too modest to be a custom commission. George E. Hallett of Des Moines and his firm Hallett & Rawson were well-known and may have sold their plans in the region, a common practice then and since.
Removal of the later siding and cosmetics inside would awaken this attractive cottage.

    Oh that kitchen sink!

Power washer, paint, some bathroom rehab, and kitchen love will make this one shine! Hopefully the main floor has beautiful hardwood floors too.

I would like to see the rest of that bathroom sink.
