This is great! I lived in the Edgewater community in Chicago a decade ago and it was awesome. It was vital, multi-cultural, and welcoming. It had a real neighborhood feeling. It was close to the lake shore and had great buildings, restaurants, groceries, parks etc. Also the train line was close by and made getting to downtown a breeze for work or shows at night.

I too used to live near this building. Had I known that it was being converted I might have bought one of the two bedroom units in the front (about ten or so years ago – when I was gentrified out of my oldx2 building I was looking for a bigger unit and this was still a rental I considered looking at a rental, but they didn’t have any two-bedrooms available at the time). This was an unusual “as-is” conversion – most recent condo conversions have been gut rehabs which have ruined the character of the units. I think I saved the floor plans which had surveyed the building and some of the “flaws” in the various units. It’s a very typical courtyard and a half building.

Nice unit! Good-sized rooms, plenty of character, and tons of windows/light, esp. in the LR.

“Needs updating”? I love it as it is, except for the sink in the bathroom and the countertops in the kitchen. I would hardly have to spend money on anything besides those items and a few gallons of paint.

This place is cute! I would move back to Chicago for this place. I hate cold weather, but Chicago is my favorite city and this condo is perfect! I wonder if there is negotiating on the price….its just a tad out of my price range

What a great city apartment! I’d be a bit worried about the old fixtures in the bathroom and would love someone to tell me what that pipe sticking out of the mirror is. But I really like this place.
