The stencilled floor is interesting. I’ve seen stencilling on stair trends, but never a whole floor. I can’t decide how I feel about it. Would that have been done back in the day? I don’t know enough about the era to say. Now, the wide plank floors on the other hand are fabulous. And I don’t know if it’s original or was added at a later date but the newel post is gorgeous.

Wow! This is a stunner, right down to the stenciled floor cloths. I wouldn’t change a thing.

The room with the pool table is just brilliant. The property is awesome. I would have at least 10 rescued dogs with all that green space.

This is a handsome house, with polished interiors. However, there has been extensive non-period updating of the fireplaces with Georgian style mantel shelves, It is possible that the house was originally heated by stoves, so there were no fireplaces when the house was built. I enlarged the photographs, but I could not tell if the siding had been replaced.

Despite these changes, it is a handsome house.

Except for NY high taxes…. almost $13,000 here…..and…..IF…I was moving to the East Coast (which I’m so often tempted by some of this site’s listings), this gorgeous house and property would be it. I love it all, even though not as historically early as I am usually passionate for.

Lovely house in a premiere suburb of Rochester, with excellent schools. Updates are very charming.

Love the country setting, even the fenced colonial bed in the back. Some parts of the house gives me a feeling of warmth by the earlier interior and then the more up to date modern aspect feels out of place to me. I love all the country antiques, the wonderful wide plank floors, the brick floors, but some of the angles and modern upstairs closets should have been made with old country doors, I don’t get the feeling of the age of the house in quite a few rooms.

What a beautiful house, very homy! I would totally live there and wouldn’t change a thing!

A question: is that flat siding on part of the front? We can see clapboard above the door level, but it looks flat under…?
