If you have always wanted to own a local showplace, this approx. 175 yr. old home with OFFICE ZONING is bright, well maintained and an architectural gem. The staircase to the 3rd floor is crafted with beautiful woods and carving and is certainly worthy of a being a showplace in a movie scene. If walking to downtown to visit the Court House, restaurants, the Colonial Theater, the Library and shops is a plus for you, this location can be very flexible. You are within a few miles of colleges, the YMCA and medical facilities. There are curved walls, beautiful molding, pocket doors. tin ceilings, fabulous molding, built-ins, lovely wood floors, a seasonal porch/breezeway, a plant room where East/Southern exposure greets you in the morning, a pantry, a very tidy basement and more! The attached carriage barn has a 2nd story with possibilities for further expansion (subject to City approvals). The newer, oversized 2-car garage is attached to the carriage barn. The current owners have been very kind to this magnificent home. If you are local history buff, past owners were John Mason, Jacob Haskell, and the Colony family (owned for about 130 yrs.) some who manufactured early glass. There is frontage on Summer St., as well as Middle Street. Comfortable gracious living is offered here.

Keene is near the top of my “one day” list. I love that newel post and the rest of the home feels so warm and cozy, think they’d mind if I came over for a nap and make some cookies?

I loved Keene when I was at the local college. Absolutely adore it and I would live there in a heart beat if Big Daddy could stand the cold.

There are at least three different periods of construction in this home, but unlike so many houses, they aren’t in conflict. The result is very handsome.

What a lovely home! It was so comfortable and inviting! The lucky new owner will have a most delightful home and hopefully many years of enjoyment.

The people who live there now, certainly love houseplants! I hope its not too cold when they move. What would possess anyone to move from such a wonderful house, anyway? I love it! But, whats with the posts out front? I could see one or two hitching posts, but are these part of a fence that never got built, or one that was torn down?
