Stunning Victorian house with oodles of character. Ascending the beautiful original stairway, you'll be amazed by original stained glass windows. Every morning, they'll make you smile. There are a couple of bay windows just waiting for you to curl up in with a good book. The gorgeous old pockets doors just cant be found today. Every where you look there are stunning shiny hardwood floors. You dont need many cupboards, just enjoy the floor to ceiling pantry. 3 ornate fireplaces to enjoy or decorate for holidays. Huge house, but low heat bills, owners just installed a new furnace. No more wood stoves. For those long summer days, you can relax on the front porch in this historic neighborhood. Possibility of apartment over garage. Plus a HOME WARRANTY! more pics available, just email me.

Do my eyes deceive me, or is there NO painted woodwork in the entire house???
    Be still my heart!

Not sure that wallpaper goes with the yellow tile on the fireplace, but if I could get someone else to pay the taxes for me, I’d be calling a moving company!

Love that the woodwork has not been painted! Yay!

Cuba is a picture-postcard village that has an unusually large number of opulent Victorian houses due to the fact that it functioned as the nation’s cheese-making center. It still has the largest cheese store in the Northeast:

Yes, this house was from cheese, built for William B. Ackerly (1868-1962), president of the Ackerly-Renwick cheese company, the largest in town. His daughter Helen Setchel lived here until 1981.

I feel like we’ve seen this before, but maybe it was just a similar house from the same area.

We will check this one out in person! A lovely large home with beautiful woodwork. A lovely area with many Amish & Mennonite families.

I love those cabinets in that bathroom. I know, I’m weird. Other people would automatically think, “rip it out!” but I love it.

This is SUCH a beautifully well preserved house considering that there’s no carpet hiding the hardwood floors! I wish I wasn’t so reluctant because of the weather! Awww!

As the comments indicate, there’s a lot to appreciate in this house so reposting it makes sense. I’m also sure many new fans have logged on to the Old House Dreams site since 2017 so this time there could very well be this home’s next owner(s) among the readers. I too appreciate the unpainted original woodwork. Heaven forbid that the next owners go in and slather white paint over all the beautiful woodwork. Keeping my fingers crossed that the next owners are preservation minded.

You gotta appreciate when the woodwork is well preserved and paint isn’t slapped onto it!

I love this house. The interior is absolutely beautiful. The flooring throughout the house is awesome!! The location looks to be quiet and serene. I love the winters in N.Y. I as a child lived in Sag Harbor N.Y. and I have very fond memories of Long Island N.Y. Cuba seems to be a very small town, with that old time atmosphere. The asking price is a bonus and leaves room for remodeling if wanted, but I wouldn’t change much!!!!

I love all the natural woodwork and especially love the tile around the fireplaces!

The only things I’d do, is change the kitchen cupboards, as they look kinda 50’s to me. I’d find something in keeping with the age and style of the house. NO CARPETING!!! Bless these people for that!!! Cuba is in a nice area-halfway between Corning and Jamestown, not that far from Buffalo. Ok, you’d might want to learn to ski, but hey, we all spend too much time on the computer! LOL!!!
