Beautiful rural setting for this SC farmhouse located halfway between the town of Orangeburg and the upper reaches of Lake Marion with both I-95 and I-26 nearby. Listed on the NRHP as the Haigler House, the house underwent a restoration a few years back and appears to be in nice shape.

I was scrolling down, enjoying every picture, then the last one was the icing on the cake! A little Boo-Boos on the window ledge! I love it when a picture like that gets thrown in the mix.

I love it! BUT- Maybe I wasn’t paying attention in class, but the left wing extension on this house looks earlier to me. And the basic silhouette of the overall dwelling seems to show that charming, slightly tumble-down effect when a family residence is added on to generation after generation. It sure does not have the clean lines of an original, singularly-designed dwelling. None of the documentation supports that notion, but after reading the NRHP document, since when do 6 over 6 light windows indicate an age later than 1 over 1 panes? It makes me wonder if this structure might warrant further study? Often these NRHP Survey documents were completed by hastily-trained volunteers?

This house is so bright and happy. The ceiling in the living room/den (?) was lovely. I added that last picture to the “Unusual OHD Pics” folder on my desktop LOL

Am I only one a bit sad wondering what will become of all the animals and critters? They seem so happy there.

I’m sure that they are going to a happy home with the current owners, although if I bought the property all of the animals would have a happy home for life!

So lovely and charming! Even better if the animals get to stay! >”<
