Nice, very nice! Love the exterior incl. the street view, the tile work, the mint green bathroom, the various doorknobs, the fountain… etc, etc. Really pretty! First thing I’d do is give it its missing front shutter.

Precisely Kelly P. I was more colorful in my expletives when I read that line. What the *@#%* are they talking about?? This house is truly beautiful and needs no remuddling. That fireplace is either Batchelder or Claycraft tile and is stunning. Maybe the floor tile in the kitchen needs attention but holy moly this is a gorgeous place. That green tiled bathroom! Yikes!

Speaking of tiled bathrooms, ours is (FINALLY) due to start finally tomorrow! Whoohoooo!

I was thinking Batchelder too. I love love love it.

It’s Pewabic tile. I live in a colonial revival in Grosse Pointe and the historic tile maker is located on Jefferson Ave. in Detroit. It’s VERY popular in this area:)

Remodel? I like the house just the way it is. I would put my money into the garage and back yard landscaping.

  7. AvatarRob says: 42 comments

Remodel? I would back date the kitchen and baths, but other than that it is amazing.

Remodel? Let’s hope all the interior walls are totally supporting!

I agree the house needs nothing except maybe kitchen flooring. I love the green tiles. They remind of jade. Very nice. And lest you think the ceilings in the fireplace room are popcorn, I believe they are textured plaster. I had those in a house once. When they crack, like almost all ceilings do, they can be repaired and blended in with a little practice – actually easier than smooth ceilings.

I love that kitchen; so taken with the diamond shapes, stove and windows, I didn’t even notice the floor. The tile green is so pretty. I’d love this home just like it is.

Plenty to be remodelled in my opinion! New kitchen floor and counter. And a window shutter.

  14. AvatarMISTERMICELY says: 60 comments

And repair the wall behind the water fountain.

    Beautiful. No remodeling needed!
    Tile is stunning!
Maybe swap out the kitchen cabinets and age the baths (not that green tile!), but that’s it.
