A gracious Southern Colonial home with its appurtenant Dutch Colonial carriage house, which has served as a guest quarter and office but would be wonderful for an au pair or in-law residence, is now available for the first time since the 1950s. The estate grounds encompass over two and a quarter acres with some wonderful landscape touches and an appropriately styled white board fence to accentuate the entrance to the property. The main house has four levels that include the main level with the grand circular stair in the entry, large scale rooms for living, dining and kitchen, as well as a study/sitting/guest room, and a full bath. The second floor has 4 superior sized bedrooms served by a full hall bath, and a master suite complete with fireplace and a grand dressing room with bath featuring local Nurre glass tile. The third floor is unfinished and has been used for storage but has potential for finishing. The full basement makes great space for play area or family retreat with yet another fireplace. This floor opens to the huge outdoor, pergola-covered brick patio...perfect entertaining spaces! Finally, the carriage house (not included in the numbers on the rest of this sheet) occupies its own lot and could potentially be sold off. It is 1, 920 SF, has office/storage space, laundry (former bath), full kitchen, and upstairs a large living room, full bath and bedroom. The sellers have neutralized the interior decor to make it easy for a new owner to envision their own decor. This is a rare opportunity to own a centrally located estate with great potential!

I used to drive by this house daily (I took S High St to work) and always wondered about its story and what it looked like inside. Thanks!!

Well this one sure caught my attention – and DID NOT dissapoint! All I want for Christmas is for that amazing kitchen, and those great baths, to survive in perpetuity in excellent condition; the whole place really. Fantastic place full of very spacious, bright and cheery rooms; SOLID as a rock; with great outdoor spaces as well; and beautifully sited on it’s fabulous land at a great spot in town. What’s not to LOVE? Heheheh. I’ll take it! The whole “Tara” thing is a little weird, but so what! A STEAL at that price; possibly meant to incite a bidding war I would think.
