My heart bleeds for this entire farm.

I wanted to put into words how I felt, you said perfectly.
Mine too!!
Probably from closer to 1840, the house has Greek Revival details similar to a few houses in the nearby village of Oak Hill. Owned by the Hitchcock family in the mid-1800’s, a huge clan that came from Connecticut shortly after the Revolution. Over 130 Hitchcocks are buried in local cemeteries.
This is a rural area but just a few miles from the Windham ski resort. Although not a place with small lot subdivisions, there is demand for larger second home parcels. The owner of this property renovated the large farm next door and it’s for sale for $1.7MM, a very high price for the area. Hopefully the buyer here will save the home and renovate it respectfully – it’s really a gem!

Reclaim the wood?
The land is amazing, the house even in this state has charm. I hope someone buys it and gives it an appropriate restoration. It has so much potential! I would love to have a farm and this place would be a dream.
