Why is this so inexpensive? Are the taxes high?

Friend of mine in NJ would say it’s cos it’s located in the “snow zone”-not too far from US20. Also looks like there aren’t any big cities around so I would bet that the taxes are reasonable for NY.

Darling house and barn. At 90,000……now reason a young couple should not go for it…!

I LOVE the floors downstairs. Looks like they’ve been taken care of over the years, and it’s just a darned cute house overall!

How has that delicate exterior trim survived so beautifully after all these years. I’ve never seen the like. This little home is perfect for what it is. Always thought it would be great to live in a hamlet. Especially with a view like that.

Westville actually used to be a thriving place with a post office, two churches, businesses etc. The population 200 years ago was twice what is now, only ~800 folks in the entire township. Just down the gravel road next to the house is this old Italianate, once the Nellis farm, now a B&B.

The house was owned by farmer Aaron Baldwin (1809-1880) in 1868; possibly it was built for him. His father and grandfather of the same name moved to the area from Connecticut around 1800, as did most of the early settlers.

Very nice exterior picture. Pine floors are great. If taxes are reasonable this should be a real winner.
