This beautiful waterfront cape cod style home was built in the 1800's with all the character still intact today. The home's rustic charm holds future potential for a family, as it currently features four bedrooms and two full bathrooms along with one half bath. Each of the bedrooms boasts wide windows for sunlight to come in. The front of the house displays a one of a kind enclosed porch that is lined with windows, allowing for the room to feel like a true indoor/outdoor space. Windows extend along the back of the porch on one side of the house that give a view of Barber's Pond. With a bit of elbow grease, this truly unique home could become your creative outlet turned sanctuary.

Here’s an article from early this year about the home: link and shows some old photos too.

Sorry but that link goes to a site loaded with pop-up spam and is unreadable.

I have no ad blocker and didn’t have any trouble with it. Perhaps you are on a phone? Phones seem to have the worst trouble with ads taking over stuff.

Wow, a porch with a house attached! *grin*

I was not expecting the wonderfully rustic interior. It’d be a blast to restore and decorate this place. I do find it a bit odd that the glorious porch doesn’t face the river. But you could certainly design a killer space out back for that.

That was my first thought, also, that the fabulous porch is on the wrong side of the house. But I guess that end part where the table is you could see the river from there. Beautiful space, and would be so light, I would love to sit there and quilt on that lovely porch.

Heheheh. For sure Natria. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Seems to me they got the location wrong as it would be far more interesting if located either up or down facing the lake; (but that could be post-modern me re-thinking back then them wanting to draw people in and engage with their neighbors). Looks like a big porch which spanned the front of the house must have been enlarged a few times, probably to accommodate large parties of friends and family. People used to actually do that kind of stuff all the time. The end result reminds me of a big, sort of maybe British, kind of river house boat, or something, with a salt box attached to one side. Heheheh The interior is for sure rad. Good luck to all that with a change in ownership.

The porch faces south, which makes it get more sun to extend the porch season and keep the house warmer in the winter. A true sun porch should always face south in the northern hemisphere. I love me some wooden rooms with unpainted radiators!

The University of RI is right up the road and the Atlantic is within 15-20 miles.

I love the boat form of the porch; quite intentional I’m sure! The kitchen with dressers for cabinets is unusual but good enough for the unique 2nd home it was. Looks like a family party house!

Sometimes, you see a home where it seems you could plop down a rocking chair, grab a good book…and just “be”.

This is one of those houses. She looks like she has seen a lot of ebb and flow of family life.. and is just waiting for her next forever family.

    Sturdy, comfortable.. good vibes.

Fingers crossed for that billion dollar lottery ticket win here in PA.

I’d buy this in a heartbeat.

    One oddity…no fireplace? I thought for sure……

    Imho

I keep wondering why that huge glassed-in porch faces the land side vs. the pond side of the house, for the water view?

I donโ€™t need the house. Iโ€™d live on that porch 9 months a year

Well, that’s different. That porch is awesome! Seems odd though that it isn’t facing the water for the most part.

Did anyone see the leather, or Lincrusta, or Anaglypta wall covering?

What a unique and cozy home! I expected something different for the interior, but it has a comfortable, welcoming ease to it. There is nothing I don’t love about it. It’s worth following Kelly’s link to see old pictures of the house too!

What an interesting house… the interior has a nautical feel to it (to me anyways) In my humble opinion, the porch would be better over looking the water… but that’s just me.

Would be nice to switch the house around so all those windows faces the water. Nice house.

The link is no longer, even with PC I did search a lot but cannot find it. This is a beautiful house , it would be nice if I could see the old pictures and article about it.
