Definitely a charmer. The beadboard gives it a cottage feel. The kitchen built-in gives it a cottage feel as well. The unpainted beadboard in the foyer is especially nice. All you need is a squeaky old-fashioned glider on the porch.

I don’t know how “quaint” Taylorsville is, according to the Realtor, but there are no boarded-up store fronts downtown like in so many of our small Southern towns — it seems to be a good place to live.

And this house is just perfect for that part of our state a couple of generations ago. We could step right in and inhabit a world of older serenity in what seems to be a thriving community.

It’s sleepy and quiet compared to nearly all of the surrounding counties, but still within a reasonable driving distance to Boone, Charlotte, and Winston-Salem. Most of the county is farmland, though.

I LOVE vintage kitchen stuff, and I see some things that I have in my home in that one.

That rounded porch—I could spend hours in a swing with a book there. This home says “relax”.

I’d love to see pics of the pink room (Bathroom??).

I would love to see more of the pink bathroom in the photo of the blue bedroom. I wonder if it’s as cool as it looks from the doorway (and I am not even a “pink” kind of person)

This place is delightful. As always, I check out the kitchen first. What a cozy, comfortable place—just right for hanging out with the kids and grandkids, or having a cup of coffee with the neighbors.
